Presented by Timbre Performing Arts
Following an Epic Poem, The BODY reflects on the oft-repeated lesson that love and pain go hand in hand. A visceral exploration of the animal linkage between sex, blood, worship, violence, tenderness, sacrifice, sadism, masochism, manipulation, obsession, divinity, domination and submission, hunger and satiation.
On the shortest, coldest night of the year, many of our ancestors would shed blood to gain the love of their gods. And in spring, the rituals representing the generosity of the body and the soul.
With performance art, burlesque, spoken word, song, and dance, we will explore the cornucopia of sensation, the bounty of feeling that humans are capable of and how the modern human heart can contain it all.
