Speaking from the traditions of jazz, soul, and hiphop; MBowie & the Blast are in the right space and time with our society and culture searching for a dialogue and arts regarding our collective humanity.

Social justice, the human toll of oppression, and the right to protest are all constantly relevant in the music and message of MBowie & the Blast. We’re inviting all folk from all walks of life to be part of this musical experience.

Michael Bowie, the Washington, D.C.-based bassist, bandleader and composer was raised by classically trained parents, studying piano, clarinet, and trumpet—but always in search of “deeper roots.” Besides his latest project his is also founder and bandleader of his mainstay band, Siné Qua Non.
