TWO DAYS #capfringe2018

Imagine a world where objects fall unexpectedly from the sky—hundreds of bouncy balls come crashing down and a knife lands in the middle of your dining room table. O'Monsters world is all about the unpredictable.

FOUR DAYS #capfringe2018

This new program will cultivate even more diversity in the productions that the Capital Fringe Festival presents, and it will bring continued professional opportunities to the developing actors, writers, and directors of D.C.

FIVE DAYS #capfringe18

If you’re a first time fringe-goer or even a return attendee and looking for some guidance, we get it. At first, the festival can seem pretty overwhelming. There are 400 shows in multiple venues and it can be hard to figure out where to start. Luckily we can help!

SIX DAYS #capfringe2018

This is the perfect opportunity to start finding some new plays to go see during the festival. Come get a taste of what the rest of the month has to hold, and celebrate this summer’s incredible artists!

SEVEN DAYS #capfringe18

When you’re not eating and shopping along the Potomac, come enjoy a beautiful view of D.C. from the CityBar, the official rooftop bar of the festival located on the penthouse level of the Hyatt Place in SW.

EIGHT DAYS #capfringe18

The DC summer sun is out to get us, so make sure you lather on that spf 30 (or 50+ if you’re pale like me). Make sure to dress cool, and by cool I mean for the weather cool, we won’t judge your style…until we do in a future blog post #fringefashion.

NINE DAYS #capfringe18

While seeing every show would be ideal, we know it can be hard to choose. We encourage you to come to the Learn to Fringe Happy Hours at CityBar or swing by Market SW for free concerts and chatting with our box office staff.

TEN DAYS UNTIL #capfringe18

With just ten days left until the 2018 Capital Fringe Festival kicks off, we’re taking a look back at the history of Fringe both in the District and internationally.

Writing Refreshed #capfringe18 Update

We are thrilled to announce the three plays we have commissioned for this year’s Fringe Festival and their directors. These selected scripts will be fully developed and presented in repertory, receiving five to seven performances during the Capital Fringe Festival at Arena Stage, the Mead Center for American Theater.

"...a dedication to radical art that makes Fringe an indispensable entity in this city."

Capital Fringe has been one of the most supportive places in DC for cutting edge music, art, and theater. Many of their presentations and productions would not be possible anywhere else in the city, and it is a rare venue for open creativity in the US.

"Capital Fringe has become an extended family, as well as a place to spread our creative wings."

My husband Michael and I both have degrees in theatre, and our children learned as they grew. We were dubbed “The Family Fringe”. Capital Fringe has become an extended family, as well as a place to spread our creative wings. It is a family we look forward to engaging with every year.
