Festival Preview Highlights!

This past Sunday, our 2018 Preview kicked off the festival with a vibrant array of show teasers and an energetic audience! Held at the rocking Pearl Street Warehouse in SW DC, attendees ate delicious burgers and tater tots, drank a cold one, and enjoyed previews of what our festival has to offer.

The charming and charismatic, Sung King Davis, guided our preview as Emcee, making us laugh and taking us on an exciting journey.

Area Women, producing Holon!, magically glided across the stage in their pastel drapes, introducing us to their beautiful world of dance. Happenstance, a fringe returnee, brought us into the late baroque era of Baracoco, arriving in full costume and making us laugh and yearn for more. Hexagon 2018: Tweet Land of Liberty, toured through their futuristic Trump era museum, making us scrutinize the present in a different way—a great show for those with current political qualms. And Jo Williamson, performer of the one woman show metamorphose, surprised us all with her sweet, melodic voice that will lull you into the happiest of trances.

If you missed our Preview—don’t sweat it! You have the entire month of July to catch yourself up. Check out the awesome shows we have in store for you in our online festival guide or on our festival show page.

We can’t wait to see you around!
