FESTIVAL COUNT DOWN #CAPFRINGE18
SEVEN DAYS UNTIL FRINGE BEGINS!
The Capital Fringe Festival is moving to the Southwest for the first time this July and we are beyond excited to be a part of this community! The Southwest Waterfront has beautiful views of the Potomac River along with restaurants, shops, businesses, and of course, the famous fish market.
The newest edition to the Southwest is the Wharf, which celebrated it’s opening in October 2017 thanks to the SW BID! All of our festival locations – Arena Stage, Blind Whino, Christ United Church, Westminster Church, St. Augustine’s Church – are within walking distance of the Wharf, making it the perfect opportunity to explore the new area between shows.
When you’re not eating and shopping along the Potomac, come enjoy a beautiful view of D.C. from the CityBar, the official rooftop bar of the festival located on the penthouse level of the Hyatt Place in SW. Every Tuesday through Thursday from 4pm to 7pm, join Fringe staff for Learn to Fringe Happy Hours. Come learn something new and experience Fringe on another level! The CityBar will also have Rooftop Jams Friday-Sunday 9pm-close, so come jam out to some amazing DJs and mingle with the fringe fam.
As if there isn’t enough to do already, make sure to swing by Market SW across the street from the Waterfront Metro stop to get your tickets, eat gelato, do yoga, and listen to live music. Each Saturday is the Farmer’s Market and each Friday is the Community Night Market. Not only that, but there will be live music every Tuesday-Thursday along with gelato socials on Wednesdays! There is nothing like gelato to bring the community together… Check out the 2018 Capital Fringe Festival Printed Guide to find out more about what’s going on at Market SW.
