"Happenstance Theater could not have gotten where we are without the support and opportunities provided by Capital Fringe and the Fringe Festival."

Written on December 19, 2017

As we enter the 13th year of Fringe in DC, we are erecting tents, embracing new partnerships, and providing greater outlets for artistic development. We need your support!

We are committed to hustling and creating space and opportunities for local independent art in our nation’s capital, we hope you will join us.

If you are willing and able to support our work with a monetary contribution, please do so by clicking HERE or send directly to us at 1358 Florida Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002.

Our company, Happenstance Theater, was launched at the inaugural Capital Fringe Festival in 2006. We performed at the Fringe Festival for five years and this gave us an opportunity to affordably produce our work, build an audience base, get reviewed and document our shows so that we could market them for tour. We returned to the Fringe Festival in 2015 with BrouHaHa, a show that has gone on to tour extensively. We have also benefited from the Logan Fringe Arts Space where we have performed in Clown Cabaret and where we presented our experimental PLAYdate. We are extremely enthusiastic to create a new show called BAROCOCO that will be produced by Capital Fringe as part of their new curated program at the 2018 Fringe Festival. Happenstance Theater could not have gotten where we are without the support and opportunities provided by Capital Fringe and the Fringe Festival.” - Sabrina Mandell, Artistic Co-Director, Happenstance Theater
