Welcome

We are open to the unknown, to risk and chance. We honor the history of Fringe's that have come before us and the city in which we live. We know that DC doesn't have an avant-garde, rock-it-out-to-all-hours-of-the-night scene - the Metro won't stay open late enough. But we think there's a place for that here, and we are asking you to help us get it started. We believe DC is a city ready for risk - to take a chance on something it's never tried before. We bring DC a flavor that is like no other. We are more than just a festival.

We represent a community of like-minded seekers - and you are a part of it.

Like many worthy endeavors, it will take some time before all civic stakeholders see our eighteen-day event the way we do and feel its potential. We are not planning on leaving anytime soon and we will only get louder the longer we are here. We are ready to offer you something that is not safe or familiar. Meet the challenge, roll the dice. There are things that you will love and hate- you just have to find them. Fringe is a treasure hunt for what tomorrow's art will be. So, get your ear to the ground.
