Volunteer
The 2012 Fringe Fringe July 12 to 29 needs the help of volunteers like you (thanks for coming here to check out how to volunteer) in order to exist. Without your time and energy we would be nothing. Thank you in advance for all of your hard work, you are invaluable!!
If you are interested in Volunteering please join our list serve. We will begin volunteer scheduling for the 2012 Fringe Festival in May.
What our Volunteers Do:
BOX OFFICE ATTENDANTS: This is the main role volunteers will play during the festival. Attendants will check in at Fort Fringe, then proceed to the assigned venue to sell tickets on-site for a specific performance. You must be comfortable counting cash, providing customer service, and working in a fast paced environment.
BALDACCHINO GYPSY TENT BAR VOLUNTEERS: Once again we will be providing cheap drinks to hydrate and intoxicate fringe patrons and a fantastic menu to keep all stomachs happy. Each day there will be one volunteer helping to prep food, and four helping to run the bar. This is the perfect job for someone who wants to be in the center of the festival!
To our Volunteers, WE PROMISE:
+ We will treat you with the utmost respect regardless of your race, sex, color, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, ability, marital status, national origin, or ancestry.
+ We will give you all the necessary training to prepare you for your tasks during the Fringe.
+ We will give you recognition for all the work you do with ticket vouchers, t-shirts and high fives!
From our Volunteers, WE EXPECT:
+ You will represent the Fringe in a positive manner.
+ You will treat all artists, staff, patrons and fellow volunteers with respect.
+ You will be clean, awake and sober during all shifts.
+ You will arrive for all Fringe commitments on time.
WHAT DO YOU GET FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK?
When you volunteer with us, you will receive one voucher for each shift worked. This voucher will get you a complimentary ticket for any show in a Fringe run venue. (Keep in mind: the use of the voucher DOES NOT guarantee a ticket. You need to reserve a ticket like everyone else).
For every FIVE box office shifts you work (or TWO Baldacchino Bar Shifts), you will receive a Fringe Festival Button. The Button is required for admittance to any Fringe run venue.
You are given a special, VOLUNTEER Fringe t-shirt to wear while volunteering. After the festival this t-shirt is yours to keep and cherish forever!
