There are roughly 84 Fringe Festivals around the world – with approximately 24 in the United States. You can find Fringe Festivals in nearly every state from New York to Minnesota to California.


THE UNITED STATES FRINGE FESTIVAL ASSOCATION
Established in 2005 with a marathon three-day conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota - believes that all US Fringes are committed to an open forum of expression that minimizes the financial risks for both artists and audiences. There is no one organization
or individual that owns or controls the name “Fringe” in the USA. USAFF defines Fringe in the USA in three simple ways:

  • Must produce a festival comprised primarily of live theatrical performance in multiple venues
  • Must provide opportunities for artists (both emerging and established) and accessibility for audiences
  • Must be based in the U.S. and/or its territories
