Interview with
a Fringe Artist

Photo of Sheldon performingEach month we interview one Fringe Artist from our Festival. We want to give you a picture (whether you're an artist or patron) as to what it takes to be a self-producing artist and to connect you to our Fringe community of artists.

June’s Fringe Artist is Sheldon Scott. Born in Pawley's Island, South Carolina, Sheldon comes from a family of Class Clowns (or that is how he tells it). Sheldon spent four years as a substance abuse and sex-offender therapist. You were first introduced to Sheldon in the 2007 Fringe Festival when he performed and produced Faggot. Last year, Sheldon performed and produced Self-Service — which was his personal coming-of-age story. Throughout the year, you can find Sheldon dressed oh-so-stylishly managing Restaurant Marvin on 14th Street. This July, you'll find him back at Fringe performing in SpeakeasyDC’s Fringe show, Showcase Showdown.
